The
country: Second largest country in the world.
Highly developed, modern, safe. G7 state. Gigantic dis-tances,
woods, seas, mountains in the west. Languages: English
and French (only in the east of Canada). Most towns
and inhabitants live in the belt along the U.S. border.
Largest cities: Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa,
Edmonton, and Calgary.
The language course cities:
Vancouver (1.8 millions inhabitants) on the west coast.
The largest city in Brit-ish Columbia, a multicultural
“melting pot”, young, modern, goal-orientated,
cosmopolitan, with a high standard of living and climatically
favoured with mild winters and warm summers. Only English
is spoken in Vancouver and west Canada. Therefore, the
language course that is taught is English!
Arrival: Flight to Vancouver.
Some flights go via the USA. The participants are picked
up from the airport and taken to their accommodation.
The Farmstay regions:
West Canada, British Columbia and Alberta. The Rocky
Mountains go through Brit-ish Columbia. East of it stretches
the lowland plains of Alberta with gigantic grazing
areas. Most livestock breeding enterprises, ranches
and corn farms are located here.
